She gets to do both as she co-hosts Riordan College’s radio program, The Truths about Dating and Mating, alongside her lifelong best friend, Ian Hollister. Being the only girl who cares to see beyond Ian’s bad boy reputation has its advantages, especially when he’s scaring off the jerks who just want to nail the campus sex-guru.

It’s when he’s “protecting” her from the advances she welcomes that she wants to lob him over the head and tell him to butt out. But Ivy feels like she’s the one who’s taken a hit when Ian almost kisses her at a party. She knows she should feel relieved when he pulls away, so why is she disappointed instead?

What’s worse, Ivy’s now getting aroused by Ian’s slightest touch and can’t stop entertaining thoughts of a romantic future. But Ian doesn’t do relationships, and she’s not interested in anything casual. In the end, Ivy decides it’s best to keep her growing feelings a secret and hope they’ll pass. However, when Ian begins hinting at wanting to take things to the next level, she’s forced to decide if a chance at something more is worth risking everything they’ve built. With their friendship and her heart hanging in the balance, can Ivy follow the advice she and Ian give their listeners - to communicate, be honest, and trust in themselves - or will insecurity, stubbornness, and pride ruin any chance of their relationship getting off the ground?

I liked the characters, and although I kind of knew where everything would end up, I also continue reading to see how it would get there. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I bought this book in the hopes it would conform to the normal storylines but I was wrong. Straight away I could tell you exactly what was going to happen in the book. The writing was good but the story line was poor. Report abuse.

Okay, I love this book! Ian is one of my fav book crushes! I mean seriously? Ian Hollister? The name alone screams sex! And then how broken he was when he went to see his father.

I wanted to climb into my Kindle and hold him and take care of him! Okay, enough gushing! Story is really good and realistic, I can so imagine how Ivy is called a slut just because of the show and i also really liked that even though Ian is popular, he's not that typical college fraternity jock. I don't remember any typos, so if there were any they didn't interfere.

What else is left to say except for READ THIS BOOK!! Jaycee DeLorenzo did a great job in this book. She had me from the first paragraph and I just couldn't put the book down. Ivy and Ian are best friend since childhood. They are now in college in their junior year and doing a talk radio show about relationships and sex. Ivy is the type of girl that just doesn't care much of what others think.

She was raised an independent strong willed women by her activist mom. Although her part in this duo radio show may make her fellow college students assume she is often sexually active she is quite the opposite.

She takes pride in helping her audience dispel many dating and sex faux pas. Ian is a more private guy. Although he is quite open and honest on the radio on a personal level he tends to keep everything private. Not having the best childhood has kept him in the mindset that he just isn't good enough. On accident he found himself in his freshman year being looked at as the bad boy that doesn't go for relationships but every girl wants to try to tame. One night Ivy and Ian find that their relationship has taken a turn and they are both looking at each other differently.

Neither wanting to acknowledge this puts them on a twist and turn path that you know will eventually collide. Not all was fun and games and you felt your heart break at times. This book isn't about all fluff. It's about loyalty, breaking down barriers and growing. The author did a wonderful job in developing these two characters. The banter between the two was priceless and at times had me laughing out loud.

Great job and am definitely looking up more work from this author. One person found this helpful. I LOVE this Book! It took me less than 24 hours to finish this novel. Approximately six hours to be precise. What I thought was going to be one of the worst books on my iPad actually turned out to be one of the best!

This book is fun, flirty, cute, heartwarming, butterfly giving, emotional, hot, sexy, and surprisingly-- funny and witty. With this book I was able to get my daily dose of love plus steamy scenes without it being overdone. The Truths About Dating and Mating is a "friends turned lovers" story.

Sadly, it's mostly predictable. I was pretty much able to guess what was going to happen in the following chapters. The thing that kept me going, though, was the author's Jaycee DeLorenzo style of writing and how she chose to execute the plot. The story is told in first person POV. This book is ridiculously funny! I love funny stuff, but it's even better with smart remarks and sarcasm, all which this book has.

The usage of everyday language and scenarios in this book was a delight.

I love you! I was no longer in the room. My presence made him uncomfortable. I wanted to shake her and tell her to have some self-respect… or at least do what any other normal slighted girl would do and march her ass out of there with a steady stream of epithets spewing from her mouth.
